I believe they didn’t fix all those bearing issues until the 997.2, which was in 2008 or 2009 model year?
Though still not as likely as the 1999 996 and Boxsters.

If it’s at 89k miles, it’s been driven a reasonable amount per year (7k miles), so it’s probably been maintained in good driveable shape.
